I’m going to try something new today. I have seen many of the Weekly Photo/Writing Challenges all over the internet. It does seem fun and interesting. So I looked it up and here are my photos of Silhouettes. How do you like it?
When I was going through my pictures I noticed that the only silhouettes were of trees and that made me think why is that? And I have no idea but now I know that it is time to take some more silhouettes photos.
In 2010 I decided to go for a weekend road trip to SanFrancisco. So on one Friday morning my friend and I hit the road. I t was the longest drive I ever did. We have decided to take Highway 1 through Big Sur. Really beautiful road with such an amazing views. I think that everyone should take that ride at least once in their lifetime. Next month my husband will experience this for the first time. I know he will love it. Since we went in June the weather was very foggy which you will see in my pictures.
One of the stops we took on our way was Bixby Creek Bridge. It is considered as the most famous and most beautiful among all the Big Sur’s bridges and it is one of the most photographed features on the West Coast. Bixby Bridge located in Monterey County was opened in 1932. It is an reinforced concrete open-spandrel arch bridge. Its total length is 714 feet (218 m), and it is 280 feet (85 m) high. That is impressive.
We also stopped by the Rocky Creek Bridge.
Don’t look down if you are afraid of heights!
It took us about 12 hours to get from San Diego to San Francisco. We were exhausted at the end of the day.
Next day we explored San Francisco by car. It was much fun.
This Orthodox Church got my attention right away.
This photo below is definitely one of my favorites.
Of course I couldn’t miss seeing the Golden Gate Bridge. This is what I saw. Oh, foggy days.
But night view on the bridge was just perfect.
What would you like to see in San Francisco?
We are getting ready for our next road trip and we will definitely spend one day in SF so do you have any recommendations what to see? where to go?
This quote is so true!!! I have one problem with it though – I always compare myself to others, to the better photographers instead on looking back in the past and compare my old photos to the ones I take today. I definitely have to make some time to look back and see the changes, see the improvement I made. Are you looking in your past to find improvement in your art and/or life?
Weekend is almost here.
I love trying out different kinds of yummy cocktails. It doesn’t matter if they are alcoholic or not. If they are delicious I’m sold. I used to work as a bartender for about 4 years in a couple of places. I could write about it a lot, but I just want to get to the point! Also as a wedding/event planner I recommend signature drinks and let me tell you they are always a winner and by far less difficult to incorporate to go with any “theme”. The fun part of it is you can give them any name you think of to work with your theme. Enjoy!
To get the recipes for any of this just click on the links above. Let me know how you like them if you ever make them.
Have a great weekend.
In 2007 I came to the States for the first time, and I thought it will be my last time as well. I have never been so wrong as that time. One of the destinations during my USA adventure was Los Angeles. I planned to stay in LA for 7 days, but after 3 days when I saw all what I wanted to see I left to San Diego – but this is story for another post. I have been in LA for 4 days and day and a half of that was pouring. It almost never rains in LA and it was one of the biggest rains I’ve seen. It didn’t stop me from seeing what I wanted though.
I hiked to see the Hollywood Sign – I know it is nothing impressive but definitely worth seeing.
Of course I wondered on the Walk of Fame in search of some cool stars 🙂
I could not miss going to see Beverly Hills as well. As a teenager I watched “Beverly Hills 90210” so I just had to go there and see what is it all about.
Santa Monica – oh yeah! Beach this is what life is all about. Ok, maybe not all about but definitely I had fun.
One more confession: I watched a lot of “Baywatch” back in the day. Oh all those dreamy lifeguards.
Los Angeles is definitely very interesting and entertaining place but it never had a chance to steal my heart. I like coming back there but it is not my favorite place for sure.
Happy Travel Thursday!
