This picture was taken in one of the Polish zoos, few months before I came to States. I call it Lion in the Snow.

{Inspire Me…} Thoughts

There is so much true in this quote. I really need to hear that to feel better on a days when I feel sad and little bit down. Even thought it is more than 6 months after my dad past away I still have those days very often.

Better late than never, it is still Monday – so I’m posting my Art Journal like on the last 4 Mondays.

Week 5 – Birds

Sometimes finding an inspiration is really hard, but not this time. Few weeks ago I started having bird visitors on my patio. I’ve been waiting for them the whole winter. Now every morning I’m waking up  to birds singing above my head. The bird feeder is just outside our window. I love these little singing visitors. They remind me of home and my University life, where I studied ornithology and took lots of 2 – weeks long bird watching trips. I think I will have to tell you more about those trips in the future. I already promised my husband I will take him for a few days bird watching trip, while living in Poland for 6 months, next winter.

To create this drawing I used Pastels, color pencils and stamps. I had fun creating it.

{Random Facts From My LIfe} Busy Life

It is so busy week for me. Dog walking, meetings, consultations, 2 weddings coming up this weekend, helping my husband (The Posture Guy) with shooting his videos, and lastly all the other daily things I have to deal with. Days don’t have enough hours. Busy. Busy. Busy! I feel like I neglected my blog this week a bit and I’m really not happy about it.

Oh, and I got a new computer MAC! My life is supposed to get better, well at least the tech aspect of it. I have tons of pictures  on my old computer and an external drive and transferring everything will take me hours. Long hours. I hope it will finally motivate me to come up with a new system to organize my photos and I will be finally able to find what I’m looking for much easier than it is now. Anyone has any suggestions?

I love Garfield and I found this picture little bit irritating today :/ My weekend will pass quickly working on Saturday and Sunday 😦 Well at least I can count on Monday Memorial Day – my day off – I really need it!

Challenge Week 4: Cats – Study

I missed our little guest Luke recently! So I thought I will work on my kitty drawings. How do you like it?

Ania Archer, Cats

Here are some fun facts about cats:

1. On average, cats spend 2/3 of every day sleeping. That means a nine-year-old cat has been awake for only three years of its life.

2. When kittens are born, their eyes are blue – but they often change color as the babies grow.

3. Female cats tend to be right pawed, while male cats are more often left pawed. Interestingly, while 90% of humans are right handed, the remaining 10% of lefties also tend to be male.

4. Only about 80% of cats have the gene that allows them to respond to the effects of catnip. The other 20% are not affected by it

5. A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.

Ania Archer, Cats

6. The first cat in space was a French cat named Felicette (a.k.a. “Astrocat”) In 1963, France blasted the cat into outer space. Electrodes implanted in her brains sent neurological signals back to Earth. She survived the trip.

7. The biggest wildcat today is the Siberian Tiger. It can be more than 12 feet (3.6 m) long (about the size of a small car) and weigh up to 700 pounds (317 kg).

8. The smallest wildcat today is the Black-footed cat. The females are less than 20 inches (50 cm) long and can weigh as little as 2.5 lbs (1.2 kg).

I love San Diego. It is one of the best places to live. Some of the reasons why I wanted to move to San Diego are San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, and Sea World. I’m not visiting these places as often as I would love to though. I love animals, they are such a great subjects for pictures. I want to share this post by Michelle because I want to encourage you to visit places like zoos or animal parks, sanctuaries, etc. in search for amazing pictures. Enjoy!

{Charmed by…} Water Drops

There is something magical in water drops. I’m just fascinated by water drop photography. Enjoy!

Raindrops are such funny things.
They haven’t feet or haven’t wings.
Yet they sail through the air,
With the greatest of ease,
And dance on the street,
Wherever they please.
